"Next Monday, July 27th, Mark starts a new regime. He will have early morning radiation treatment at HUP (Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania). He is being treated by the Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology in the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine which is a new state-of-the-art center. After his morning radiation he will head across the city to Pennsylvania Hospital to have five hours of chemotherapy. When this is completed, he heads back to HUP for his second round of radiation. He will have a long day!"
"Mark will have this schedule of radiation, chemo, radiation every day for five days. The following two weeks he will have the early morning and late afternoon radiation treatments each day and the fourth week he will go back to the radiation, chemo, radiation schedule. The fifth week will be the two radiation treatments a day."
"All of his doctors are very pleased with his progress and believe that he will continue to tackle this next stage with the same determination and positive attitude that he has demonstrated in the past several months. He is ready for this step which will get him closer to the time that he can return to BC with his friends, teammates, coaches, professors and fans."
"Mark and the rest of his family appreciate all of the support, prayers and positive energy that has been sent his way!"
We at HerzNation are so pleased to hear of this news. It looks like the next few weeks will be the most grueling, but lets hope this radiation and chemo combo knock the cancer out for good.
