Even before the smoke has cleared from the 2009 NFL Draft the mock 2010 Drafts are out. has Herzlich going number 7 overall to the Cleveland Browns. Where as CBS has him going number 4 overall. I've checked other sites that have him going in the top 40. Let's be honest, it is too soon.

My thoughts... "Herzlich...Great job in the spring game...Hit the weights this summer...Follow coach's orders...Rest up...Enjoy yourself...Get ready for the best season of your college career."

The only time that Herzlich needs to worry about Draft day is the day after the Eagles win the bowl game. That goes for me too. I'll just report the circus.

Congrats to all of the Eagles Free Agents.

This guy is a monster! Check out this photo of Herzlich from yesterday's spring game at Alumni Stadium. The crowd was small, probably due to the NFL draft and the Red Sox game, but that didn't deter Herzlich from having a big day. Mark lead the Eagles defense to a victory over the offense contributing 9 tackles, one for a loss, and three pass breakups. I pray for the team's sake that the offense gets their shit together and we have a quarterback step up. Lets go Eagles.

In other news... I mentioned yesterday that B.J. Raji was selected 9th by the Packers but I failed to mention Ron Brace's fate. Congratulations Ron! "Ron Brace Yourself" was selected 40th overall by a team that you might have heard of...that's right. The New England Patriots! Ron will be close to home next season and I'm psyched for him. Well done Ron.

Check out Ron's NFL Vignette here.

I know that most of you were busy with the details of the NFL draft or might have been on your way to the Red Sox Game. But the Eagles had their annual Jay McGillis Spring Game this afternoon. And the results are in. Herzlich lead the defense with 9 tackles, one for a loss, and three pass breakups. But it comes as no surprise to me that the defense dominated the offense in this spring game. We are going to need to have some young guys step up and create some opportunities so that we don't have the defense in the field for the whole season.

I would have loved to had watched it but the internet plugin wouldn't work for me. Was anyone able to watch the live stream?

Read more on the spring game here.

Boston just went up 13-11. Go Sox!

With the 9th overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft the Green Bay Packers have selected Boston College's B.J. Raji. I see Raji making a huge impact on the Packer's new 3-4 defense. I know that we're gonna miss him. Congrats B.J.! Enjoy the time with your family. If you missed the selection check it out here.

In other news...BC had their big spring game today. I'll have more info on that after I stop jumping up and down.

Did you go?

Well tomorrow is the annual Jay McGillis Memorial Spring Game and family fun day Flynn Recreation Complex, directly across from Alumni Stadium. The fun starts at 11:00am and kickoff is scheduled for 1:00pm. For those of us that won't be able to make it to the game, BC Athletics is streaming it live on their website, here, starting at 1:00pm EST.

Please be sure to hang around after the game for the autograph signing and be sure to stop by and meet Mark. Let me know what you think about the team.

Who do you think should start at quarterback this season?

This is too good. Scroll to 1:45 and check out the hands. Mark drops back and reads the route as if he's running it himself. Plus the move that he puts on the guy before he gets in the end zone. Damn. Can I say that Herzlich could be a nice tight end? I know I'm not the first guy to say that. You have to watch this video to the end. Not only are there some kick ass graphics and a huge explosion, look at the bumpers of the guys with their arms crossed. Too good.

Also. There's a break in the video then a very weird section highlighting new head coach Spaziani as the old defensive coordinator. Kinda Cool. Enjoy.

Check out this defensive montage from the 2008 Maryland Game. Mark gets some good face time in the bizarre montage in the end, including an inverted clip that makes him look like a neon hype man. Scroll to 1:43 and check out the spin move off the line. Can't wait to see the stronger faster 2009 version. Go Eagles!

It's on!

April 7, 2009
"BC senior linebacker Mark Herzlich has been named to the 2009 Lott Trophy Watch List, which was announced today by Ronnie Lott. Herzlich, a quarterfinalist last year, is among 42 defensive players from around the country that have been nominated for this award."

"Herzlich earned ACC Defensive Player of the year, and was an All-ACC Academic selection this past season. In addition, he was named to the Associated Press All-America Third Team. Herzlich led the team with 110 tackles. He also paced the defense with six interceptions and eight pass break-ups, while returning two interceptions for touchdowns."

The 2009 Lott Trophy will be announced at a gala black-tie banquet at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach, California on Dec. 13, 2009. And I will be there.

As I tirelessly search the internet for everything Mark Herzlich I am always confronted with a lot of junk. Pixelated photos of Mark looking like a mean Seth Rogan. Cell phone video taken from the stands of Alumni Stadium of girls discussing the rules of the "football match." And this video.

I must have watched this video 200 of 443 views that it has to date. This video has nothing to do with Mark Herzlich #94 of Boston College and I have no idea what they're even saying. But it makes me feel good. They seem excited about something and I figured that I might as well share this with you because when you go looking for everything Mark Herzlich, you will watch this video. Enjoy.

Check out the press for the first BC Eagles spring game, April 25th 2009 at Alumni Stadium, sponsored by BMW of Peabody. This is the sneak peak for the ads that will be run in the Herald and the Globe in a few days. This pretty much confirms that Herzlich is the face of Boston College for the 2009 season.

Not that I'm surprised. Not only is Herzlich 6foot4, 240, with a huge beard, and intimidating eye black. He's wicked smart and he's got a smile that would melt any mothers heart and probably even make your girlfriend do a double take. I applaud Boston College marketing for finally figuring it out. Plus Herzlich's last season numbers don't hurt.

Sadly, I can't make it to the game but I suggest that all of you go and remember to hit up the autograph signing and meet Herzlich in person. You'll see what I'm talking about. But bring a sack lunch because I know that the line for Herzlich's table is going to be around the block. Let me know how it goes.

(Also. Can we get Spaziani a new photo. He looks like a chump with that smile. Have some respect for the new head coach.)
