HERZLICH ON TWITTER YESTERDAY
Although his tweet raises a myriad of questions, it is great to hear that Mark is already thinking about getting back in the gym. I would hesitate to broadcast that Mark will be hitting the gym regularly but I know that he's itching to be out there with his teammates.
Amazing news Mark. Take it slow. Do it right. We here at HerzNation can't wait to get you back on the field next season.
Stay Up! Go Eagles!

HERZLICH MAKES IT TO RON BRACES FIRST NFL GAME
Mark was able to make it to Ron Brace's first NFL preseason game. Here's what Ron had to say:
"If you know Mark, you know that the way he's reacting to this is not out of the ordinary for Mark," he said. "He's going to take everything head on. He works hard. He's going to do what he can to beat this cancer and get back on the field. He knows he's going to beat this. I'm rooting for him."
We're happy to hear that you were able to get to the game. Stay Up!

BC EAGLES MEDIA DAY - MCLAUGHLIN TALKS HERZLICH
Today was media day for the 2009 Boston College Eagles. LB Mike McLaughlin talked Mark Herzlich:
On how much he has spoken with Mark Herzlich:
"Mark is a special kid, he really is. I'm sure he has a million people calling him and asking how everything is going. I just spoke to him Sunday night, the first night we reported, so I'm probably going to give him a call as soon as I can. It's great to hear his voice. He is such an optimistic kid, he's been one of the greats here and he's a good friend of mine on top of that."
On what it would mean to have Herzlich on the sidelines:
"It makes a world of difference. He and I have talked about that and I think that would only benefit the whole team. You're talking about a big-time player and a big-time person, that's who he is. I think it would do nothing but great things to have him around."

ESPN's HD SAYS THAT ACC FANS WILL BE MISSING OUT IN '09
ESPN's HD said today that ACC fans are going to be missing out this season, in large part to the the absence of Mark Herzlich.
"Without Herzlich, Boston College will miss the best defender in the conference, and one of the most inspirational, well-spoken student-athletes I've had the pleasure of interviewing... it's like setting sail without your captain."
Although he won't physically be in the huddle this season, Mark Herzlich is going to be in the hearts and minds of each and every player, coach, ball boy, and fan in the stadium. Before the first whistle blows, the entire world will look down on that sideline and see #94, ready, and focused on the task at hand...to inspire those men who have stood by his side throughout this entire process.
All controversy aside. We at HerzNation cannot wait to see what BC can do with the power of Mark Herzlich behind them. Pray 'til it Herz!

The Boston Globe's Bob Hohler has said what everyone is thinking.
"Here’s his plan, crazy as it may sound for a patient with a rare, highly malignant bone cancer. Mark Herzlich tips his cap to the chemo nurses and radiation team. He bids farewell to the volunteers who delivered him snacks while drugs dripped through a line into his chest. He thanks the oncologists, surgeons, parking attendants, everyone whose path he crossed on his incredible journey from ill-fated cancer patient to hulking survivor."
"Then he plays football again. Boston College football. Atlantic Coast Conference football. And, yes, NFL football."
