COACH SPAZIANI TALKS HERZLICH AND THE UPCOMING SEASON

Coach Spaz participated in the 2009 ACC Kickoff in Greensboro, NC and talked about the upcoming season and the hurdles that they'll have to overcome. Here's what he had to say about Herzlich:

"It was devastating news...In my years of coaching, I always tell kids to expect the unexpected. Whatever happens in life or in a football game, we have to deal with it. As cliché as it sounds, we told the kids and after the initial shock, we just dealt with it. That's what our kids have to do. We will help Mark in whatever way we can."

Spaziani continued, "Youth be served. When you're 21 years old, you think you are invincible. He's a competitor and he just looks at this like a bump in the road - granted a bigger bump - but it's nothing he can't handle."

Coach Spaz has been great throughout this whole process and we'll be there every game this season in support.

Mark continues with his rigorous radiation and chemo cocktail through this week. We at HerzNation hope it's going as planned.

ESPN's HD REPORTING GOOD NEWS FOR HERZLICH

ESPN's HD talks about Mark Herzlich's treatment progress with Coach Spaz.

We at Herznation are working on getting a comprehensive write up on Mark's current treatment progress. We are elated by the prospect of no surgery, but await an official report.

This is all great news, but like Coach said... We've "still got a long way to go."

Hey Mark...Stay Up!
