Mark's brother Brad was honored with the Jim Henry Award for 2010. The award is given to high school students who excel in both athletics and academics, and serve their schools and communities.
"There were a lot of young men deserving of the award, and Brad is certainly among them," Conestoga coach John Vogan said. "His accomplishments speak for themselves. He truly represents what the award is all about."
Herzlich, a captain who totaled 145 tackles last season, is a defensive midfielder in lacrosse. He has a 4.0 grade-point average, takes several advanced-placement classes, and is involved in the school's Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) chapter.
Herzlich, of Bryn Mawr, was a second-team all-Central League selection as a linebacker. He is expected to play that position at Brown.
Brad and Mark will be attending the official trophy presentation in Atlantic City on March 5th. It will be the first time in Maxwell Awards history that two brothers will be receiving an award in the same year.
Congratulations guys. Stay Up!
